Technical Expertise • The Best Tools • The Best People
Established in 2010, ProTool Cycleworks can claim to have built, serviced and repaired bikes for some of the best riders around . The head mechanics, Peter 'Spike' Taylor and Iain McClellan, have both worked at the very top of the sport, providing mechanical support and training for Team GB and many top professional cyclists. They also currently maintain and race-prepare all of the bikes used by the Rapha Condor JLT professional cycling team, one of the top domestic teams in the UK.
The founders have also worked with the top names of cycling over the years, including household names such as Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton CBE, Sir Bradley Wiggins CBE, Ed Clancy MBE, Mark Cavendish MBE, 2009 Downhill World Champion Steve Peat, 2010 Women’s Downhill World Champion Tracey Moseley, plus British Olympic Mountain Bikers Liam Killeen and Caroline Alexander. Spike has also worked alongside Chris Boardman MBE, helping to develop some of the bikes and equipment that are used for the Olympic and Paralympic Games within the marginal gains programme of British Cycling.
Experience built up over decades means that ProTool have seen practically everything when it comes to building, servicing and repairing. No problem is too big or too small and you can have absolute confidence that we will treat your bike the same way we would treat that of a professional rider, using protocols developed over forty years of combined experience, then systematically installed into every mechanic employed by the business.
Regardless of whether you are a new cyclist needing some practical advice on maintenance or an experienced rider needing expert advice or set-up for a race or event, ProTool are the go to people for any mechanical issue with your bicycle.
